How Do Learners Log Into Transfr Train?
Learners sign in to Train with a username and password or a 5-digit Sim Pass. At SSO organizations, the Sim Pass is the only way in.

Transfr Train gives learners hands-on skills training in VR. Before a learner can start a sim, they need to log in. This guide covers both ways a learner signs into Train, where you find each one, and what to expect the first time a learner logs in.
What are the two ways learners log into Train?
Train has two login methods:
- Username and password — set up for the learner when their account is created.
- Sim Pass — a 5-digit code you can find on the instructor dashboard or the learner's own dashboard.
There's no third option. Classroom codes are a Trek feature and don't work in Train. See How is Train login different from Trek login? below.
How do I log in with a username and password?
An admin or instructor sets up a username and password when a learner's account is created. For more on setting up learner accounts, see How do I add and manage learners?
- On the login screen, select the username field — an in-headset keyboard pops up.
- With the controller, point at each key and press the trigger button to type the learner's username.
- Select the password field and type the password the same way.

How do I log in with a Sim Pass?
A Sim Pass is a 5-digit code that works instead of a username and password.
- Enter the learner's 5-digit Sim Pass when Train asks for it.
A Sim Pass is single-use. Once a learner uses it to log in, that code won't work again. A Sim Pass also expires after 3 days, even if nobody used it. If a code doesn't work, get the learner a fresh one from the classroom page.
Where do I find a learner's Sim Pass?
- On the classroom page in the Dashboard, select the Sim Pass tab.
- Find the learner's 5-digit code in the list.

What if my organization uses SSO?
If your organization uses single sign-on (SSO), username and password login is turned off for Train. Every learner in an SSO organization signs in with a Sim Pass.
What happens the first time a learner logs in?
The first time a learner logs into Train, they see a user agreement. They accept it before they can start a sim.
Every login after that first one works the same way as any other login — the agreement only appears once.
Does Train remember a learner between sessions?
No. Train doesn't keep a learner signed in from one session to the next, and there's no "stay signed in" option. Every session starts the same way: the learner enters their username and password, or a Sim Pass, from scratch.
Tip for instructors: build a few minutes into the start of every session for learners to log in, and have a fresh Sim Pass ready for any learner who's using one — a used or expired code won't get them in.
How is Train login different from Trek login?
A Train login is different from a Trek login. Trek takes three sign-in methods: a personal account, a classroom code, or a Sim Pass. Train takes two — a username and password, or a Sim Pass. The classroom code is the one Trek method Train doesn't accept at all.
