Mission Control for Trek
The instructor's live view of a Trek session. Track progress, spot stuck learners, and guide them.
For: Instructors and administrators
Mission Control gives you a live view of every active headset in a Trek classroom, so you can see what each learner is doing, catch anyone who's stuck, and guide the session in real time. This article covers how to open it, what the view shows, and how to fix common issues.
Find your live classrooms
- At the org level: the main Dashboard highlights Live Now classrooms so admins can see everything active at a glance.
- In the classroom list: each classroom tile shows a Live indicator with the number of learners currently in headsets.
Open Mission Control
- Log in to the Transfr Dashboard.
- On the Classrooms tab, select the classroom you want to monitor.
- Select the Mission Control tab — the number of live learners appears next to the tab name.
Read the live grid
Mission Control shows a tile for each active headset. Every tile includes:
- Simulation name (for example, "Restore Power to an Entire Town").
- Progress percentage.
- Wi-Fi signal strength.
- Status:
- Active — the learner is moving through the sim.
- Idle — the learner is in the headset but hasn't looked around or moved for 2 minutes.
- Inactive — the headset hasn't sent an update in 15 seconds, so the learner appears disconnected or has taken the headset off.
- Stuck — the learner has been on the same simulation step for 30 seconds and may need help moving forward.
Select the pin icon in the top-right of a tile to expand that headset's view.
Switch between image and data-only views
Use the Live Feed toggle to choose how much you see:
- Image feed: one frame per second of what the learner sees. No transcript in this mode.
- Data-only: progress, battery percentage, status, and transcript — no images. Use this to reduce bandwidth in low-network rooms and scan progress quickly.
Monitor an individual session
Select a learner's tile to see their total progress, current task, and time in the simulation. Use what you see to step in with feedback or help. If a session looks stalled, confirm the headset is powered on, connected, and running the sim.
Troubleshooting
- No live feed? Confirm the Live Feed toggle is on and the headsets are connected to the classroom session.
- A learner isn't showing up? Check that they're enrolled in the classroom on the Classrooms tab, and that their headset is powered on and online.
- A session won't update? Refresh the Dashboard page, or toggle the Live Feed off and back on.
