How to View and Monitor Device Status

Monitor your headset fleet from the Dashboard: app versions, battery levels, and device health.

Navigating to the Devices Dashboard

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. In the left-hand navigation sidebar, click on Devices.
  3. Note: If no devices are associated with your organization, this tab will not be visible.
  4. You will see a list of all devices associated with your organization.

Note: The data displayed updates when the page loads. If you do not see the most recent changes, please refresh your browser.

Understanding Device Data

The dashboard displays your fleet information in a table format. Here is what each column represents, reading from left to right.

1. DEVICE NAME

This column displays the unique name of the headset. This name matches the unique sticker Transfr assigned to the physical device, allowing you to easily cross-reference the dashboard with your inventory.

Tip: To see the apps and versions installed on a specific headset, click the arrow (›) to the left of its Device Name to expand the row. See Expanded View (App Details) below.

2. BATTERY

This column provides a real-time snapshot of the power levels for the entire unit :

  • Headset: Displays the battery percentage (1-100%).
  • Controllers: Displays icons for the Left (L) and Right (R) controllers to indicate their connectivity and battery status.
  • Charging: A lightning bolt icon will appear if the device is currently plugged in and charging.

3. ACTIVITY

This column indicates the connectivity state of the device (e.g., Active or Inactive).

4. LOCATION

This displays the City where the device was most recently connected to the internet.

5. STATUS
This column gives you a high-level summary of the device's readiness. It will display one of the following color-coded tags :

  • UP TO DATE (Green): All Transfr applications on the headset are on the latest version.
  • UPDATING (Yellow): One or more applications are currently downloading or installing updates.
  • OUT OF DATE (Red): One or more applications are behind and require an update.

Expanded View (App Details)

When you expand a specific Device Name row, you will see a sub-list detailing the software installed on that specific headset :

  • APP: The name of the specific simulation or application (e.g., "Electrical Construction", "Virtual Training Facility").
  • VERSION: The specific version number currently installed for that app.

Who Can Access This Feature?

Access to the Devices dashboard depends on your organization structure and role permissions :

  • Multi-Organization Accounts: Available to Super Admins and Reporters.
  • Single-Organization Accounts: Available to Admins.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I install the most updated apps?

See Updating Transfr Trek for instructions. If you are still having issues, please reach out to Technical Support.

Why don't I see the "Devices" tab in my dashboard?

If you do not see the Devices tab in your left-hand navigation bar, it is likely due to one of two reasons :

  • Permissions: You may not have the required role to view fleet data. This feature is currently available to Admins (for single-organization accounts) and Super Admins or Reporters (for multi-organization accounts).
  • Your organization bought your own devices: currently the Devices tab only works for Transfr leased hardware.

The device list looks incorrect or outdated. What should I do?
The dashboard retrieves the most recent status from your devices the moment you load the page. It does not update in real-time while you are viewing it.

  • Refresh Your Browser: If you suspect the data is old (e.g., a device was just plugged in but still shows as "Offline"), simply refresh your web page to pull the latest information.
  • Check Connections: Ensure the physical headset is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi so it can report its status back to the dashboard.

Can I remotely restart a headset or push an app update from this page?
Not at this time. The Devices view is designed for monitoring status and visibility only. Remote actions, such as restarting a device or manually triggering an app update, cannot be performed directly through the dashboard .

How do I know which device is which?
We have designed the dashboard to match your physical inventory. The Device Name listed in the dashboard will match the unique sticker Transfr assigned to the physical headset.
