How do I log in to the Transfr Dashboard?
Email and password or SSO, resetting a password, activating an invitation, and fixing sign-in errors.
For: Instructors and Admins
This article covers signing in to the Transfr Dashboard as an instructor or admin. If you're a learner signing in to take a sim, this isn't your login — check with your instructor for the learner sign-in steps.
Setting up a brand-new account? Start with Set up your account from an invitation email. You need to create your password there before you can sign in.
Go to the sign-in page
The Dashboard sign-in page is at dashboard.transfrinc.com. Open it in your browser.
The first thing you see is a short list of sign-in choices, not a login form. Pick the one your organization uses:
- Sign in with Username or Email — for a Transfr email and password.
- Sign in with Clever, Sign in with ClassLink, or Sign in with NYC DOE — for single sign-on.
Log in with email and password
- On the sign-in page, select Sign in with Username or Email.
- In the Email or Username field, enter your address.
- In the Password field, enter your password.
- Select Sign In.
The email and password fields only appear after that first step. If you land on the page and see four buttons and no fields, that's the normal starting screen.
Success looks like this: you land on your Dashboard, which normally opens on your home view with your usage data. If you see an error instead, check Fix common sign-in problems below.
Log in with SSO
Some organizations sign in through their school or district system instead of a Transfr password. Transfr supports three SSO providers:
- Sign in with Clever
- Sign in with ClassLink
- Sign in with NYC DOE
To use one, select the matching button on the sign-in page. You'll be sent to that provider's login screen, not a Transfr one. Enter your credentials there and finish signing in.
There's no Google sign-in option, and no general district-login option outside these three. If your organization uses a different system to manage logins, ask your Transfr Admin which of these three to use, or use email and password instead.
If you've already opened the email and password form and want to go back to the SSO choices, select Sign in with SSO.
Setting up Clever or ClassLink for your organization happens in that provider's admin console, not in the Dashboard. If you need help connecting your organization to one of them, contact our support team below.
Reset your password
- On the sign-in page, select Sign in with Username or Email.
- Select Forgot Password.
- Enter your email address and submit the request.
- Check your email for the reset link.
- Select the link and set a new password.
The reset link expires 30 minutes after it's sent. If you wait too long, the link stops working and shows this message: "Your reset password link has expired. Please visit the sign in page and press 'Forgot Password' to try again." If that happens, go back to the sign-in page and select Forgot Password again to get a new link.
You can also reset your password from inside the Dashboard. Open your profile and select Reset Password.
Set up your account from an invitation email
New instructors and admins get an email invitation to set up their account. You create your own password during this step. Until you finish it, you have no password to sign in with.
- In the invitation email, select the account-setup link.
- On the Create Account page, enter a password in the Password field.
- Enter the same password in the Confirm Password field.
- Select the checkbox to accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Select Sign Up.
Your email address is filled in for you on this page and can't be changed.
Your password must be at least 8 characters and include a letter, a number, and a special character. The page lists these requirements and checks them as you type.
Success looks like this: you're taken to the sign-in page. Sign in there with your email and your new password.
If your invitation link has expired
The link expires 7 days after it's sent. After that it no longer works.
Ask an Admin at your organization to resend the invitation, then finish setup as soon as the new email arrives. If you're the only Admin at your organization, or there's no one to ask, contact our support team below and we'll resend it.
Edit your profile or sign out
- At the bottom of the left-hand menu, select your name.
- On your profile, select the pencil icon (Edit Profile) in the upper right to update your name or email.
- To end your session, select Sign Out.
Your profile also lists your role under USER TYPE and the organization you belong to. The edit control is an icon, not a labelled button, so look for the pencil rather than the words.

Fix common sign-in problems
If sign-in doesn't work, the Dashboard shows a message that tells you what happened. Here's what each one means and what to do.
"Email or password incorrect"
This is the general sign-in error. The email and password didn't match an account. Re-enter both and try again. If the password may be wrong, use Reset your password above.
"Login Method Not Allowed. Please Use SSO to login"
This means your account is set up to sign in through Clever, ClassLink, or NYC DOE — not through email and password. A password reset won't fix this, because your account doesn't use a Transfr password at all. Go back to the sign-in page and select the SSO button your organization uses instead.
If you don't know which of the three your organization uses, ask an Admin at your organization, or contact our support team below.
"Organization account expired... Contact technical support"
This means your organization's account has expired. Contact our support team below to get this resolved — this isn't something you can fix from the sign-in page.
"Too many requests. Please try again later."
This appears after several sign-in attempts in a short time. Wait a few minutes, then try again. Your account does not get locked. The message is temporary and clears on its own.
If you suspect the problem is your network rather than your account, the sign-in page has a Test Your Network Connectivity link you can run before contacting us.
