What is a Program Classroom?
A Program Classroom holds one Program, gets its own tabs, and locks fields if you're rostered.
For: Admins and Instructors managing a classroom on the Programs product
A Program Classroom is a classroom whose Product field is set to Programs. It carries exactly one Program, shows a Program field that other classrooms don't have, and has a different tab set built around Course Builder and Gradebook.
What makes a classroom a Program Classroom?
Every classroom has a single-select Product field. When that field is set to Programs, a Program field appears on the classroom — this field only shows up for Programs classrooms, not for Trek or Train classrooms. Each classroom holds one Program at a time; there's no way to assign more than one Program to a single classroom.
What tabs does a Program Classroom have?
A Program Classroom has six tabs, in this order:
- Progress
- Learners
- Quick Sign Up (QR)
- Course Builder
- Sim Pass
- Gradebook
The set is the same on every Program Classroom, whichever Program it uses. This is different from Trek and Train classrooms: Trek classrooms show Mission Control and Menu Builder instead of Course Builder and Gradebook, and Train classrooms show Gradebook, but also All Modules and Export Data (.csv) instead of Course Builder.
Export is not a tab, so don't look for it in the tab strip. It's a button that appears next to the content it downloads — in the Awards section of the Progress tab, and again at the top of the Gradebook tab. The Sim Pass tab has its own version, labelled Export (.pdf).
Can I change the Product or Program later?
For rostered organizations (Clever, ClassLink, or NYC DOE), the Product and Program fields are locked — a lock icon marks them, and neither can be changed from the Dashboard. For organizations that aren't rostered, both fields can be updated from the classroom detail page's Edit Classroom control. It's the same single-select dropdown used when the classroom was created — there's no separate add/remove products control.
