Trek Mobile Learner Experience
What learners see in Trek Mobile: interest inventory, career matches, favorites, pathways, and goals.
For: Learners (and instructors demoing the learner view)
Trek Mobile is the web side of Transfr Trek, where learners discover careers, build a plan, and generate the Sim Passes that unlock VR simulations. It runs on any device with a browser — laptop, tablet, or phone. This article walks through the whole experience end to end.
Log in to Trek Mobile
- Go to trek.transfrinc.com.
- Sign in with your school account (SSO) or the username and password your teacher gave you — the same ones you use for the Transfr Dashboard.
- Select Sign In.
For sign-in help, see How do I access Trek using SSO?
Complete the interest inventory
Dash, the hedgehog, guides you through it.
- Select Get Ready.
- Answer 23 quick agree/disagree questions about your likes and dislikes. It only takes a few minutes.
- Need to restart? Select Start Over.
Explore your career matches
When you finish the inventory, your personalized matches appear, ranked by how well they fit your interests.
- Select Matches to see your careers. Each card shows the career name, a relative salary indicator ($ to $$$$), what the job involves, and which of your interests it matches.
- Select a career to open its page, where you'll find the related VR simulation, an overview, the career cluster, average pay (local and national), the skills it needs, and the pathway to get there.
- Use the Question and Answer feature to browse common questions about the career.
Favorite the careers you like
- Select the heart icon on any career to save it to your favorites.
- Any career you rate 4 or 5 stars in the VR headset also lands in your favorites automatically.
- Try to favorite a mix of career types, not just the highest-paying ones.
Take a career into VR
From a favorited career, select Sim Pass to generate a code, then enter it in the headset to play the simulation. For the headset steps, see How do learners log in to the Transfr Trek app?
Dig into the pathway
On a career page, select View Full Pathway to explore:
- High school: elective courses to consider — a good conversation starter with your counselor.
- Skills: general skills plus ones specific to this career.
- Extended learning: required certifications and local programs or 2- and 4-year degrees, listed nearest first. Select a program to open its website.
Set your goals
- Select Set up Goals.
- Enter at least one short-term and one long-term goal. Choose from the dropdown or type your own.
- Select Send to Counselor to submit your goals and career choice. This emails your career plan to your instructor of record (shown in the Transfr Dashboard classroom roster).
Share your career plan
- Email: send your pathway to a family member or friend.
- Download PDF: get a full summary — salary, description, skills, extended learning, and your goals. It's a strong starting point for a Career and Academic Plan.
