Headset Cleaning Guidelines
It's important to adhere to hygiene and safety best practices when using the Quest 2. Transfr installs silicon-based face coverings on all headsets that may be disinfected between uses with alcohol or disinfectant wipes; headsets are shipped with a supply of alcohol wipes. Outlined below are the recommended steps for cleaning the headset and hand controllers for daily use, training, and special events where the headset is expected to be shared among multiple users.

Do not share headsets with anyone that may have a contagious condition, infection, or disease (for more information on health and safety, see oculus.com/warnings). For advice relating to specific contagious conditions such as COVID-19, please refer to CDC guidelines on cleaning and disinfecting considerations.
Cleaning Guidelines
- Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after each use. If a sink is not readily accessible, use hand sanitizer.
- When cleaning the headset and controllers use nitrile gloves. Dispose of gloves after each use.
- When cleaning any device, such as headset, controllers, and other elements people have touched, use non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipes. Suggested products include Wexford Cleancide, Lysol wipes, or 70%+ alcohol wipes.
- Be sure to saturate the surface until it is visibly wet. Only a dry microfiber cloth should come in contact with the lenses.
- Alcohol wipes should not be used on the lenses or the sensor cameras on the headset, but may be used on other headset components. Alcohol wipes can damage lenses and sensors. Transfr provides a microfiber cloth with each headset to use to clean the headset lenses.
- If the suggested supplies are unavailable, you may consult the CDC cleaning list, but be mindful harsh chemicals may cause damage to equipment over time. Be sure products are non-abrasive.
